Wedding Planning During the Holiday Season

Dec 03, 2021

Holiday season is already here and the busyness has begun. Planning a wedding in the midst of shopping, parties, end of year deadlines, and the emotions that heighten this time of year can be overwhelming. My biggest advice this time of year is to take a pause from your wedding planning to do list.

Make a goal to finish any immediate outstanding to-do’s the first week or two of December, then organize your next to dos but set aside until January. This seasons is not only busy for you, but it is also busy for all wedding vendors. They generally have a ton of holiday parties they are providing services for, and they also are trying to take time off as well.

By setting aside the planning, it gives you space to enjoy the holidays and enjoy being engaged over the holidays. The wedding is the focus, but being engaged is such a short sweet time in your life, so just be present and focus on each other!

One last tip, don’t forget to come up with a line or two about your wedding that you can say to all of the friends and family you see this time of year. They will want to know how everything is going, so have something short and sweet to say that will answer their question, but allow you to move the conversation along. You don’t want to be put in a place to get a ton of unwanted advice or having to discuss every detail.

Cheers to a magical holiday season!
